Some mini-leagues let you walk out in two taps. Others hold you until May, and nothing tells you which is which until you go looking for the button. The rules are below, taken from the official help. Then the thing most people are really after: DraftIcon PL, where there is nothing to leave, because every squad expires on Monday.
You can leave an invitational mini-league you joined with a code: open Leagues and Cups, pick the league, and use the leave option that sits with the league itself. Public leagues, the global ones and your club league are automatic and have no exit at all.
Three locks catch people out. A Classic league tied to a Cup will not let you go, a head-to-head league seals once its fixtures are drawn, and in FPL Draft you are in for the season the moment the draft begins. Whatever you do, the team stays: there is no way to delete a squad mid-season and start again.
Fantasy Premier League runs several kinds of table and the exit rules differ in each one. Find whichever you are stuck in.
The mini-league a friend sent you a code for. Open it from Leagues and Cups and the leave option is there, on the site and in the app.
Your points are untouched. You simply stop appearing in that one table.
The overall table, your country, your club, the league attached to a favourite team. You were entered automatically and there is no leave control, because leaving would mean leaving the game.
If the league runs its own Cup and you are in the draw, the exit disappears. The official rules put it plainly: teams cannot leave a Classic league if they are entered in that league's associated Cup competition.
Fantasy Premier League, game rulesFixtures are generated at the start of the league's first gameweek, and once they exist the league is closed: nobody can join and nobody can leave. Walking out would leave somebody without an opponent.
Fantasy Premier League, game rulesYou can leave before the draft starts. After the first pick your team belongs to that league until the end of the season, because a draft league missing a squad is broken for everyone else.
FPL Draft, helpA private Draft league can be deleted before scoring starts. Once scoring has begun it runs to the end of the season, whether anybody is still watching or not.
FPL Draft, helpOne thing to know before you hunt for a button: you cannot reset your own squad. A Wildcard or a Free Hit changes your eleven, never your history, and a genuinely blank slate only arrives when the next season opens in the summer. If a fresh table is what you are after rather than a fresh squad, redrafts are the closer fit.
Leaving a league is not leaving the game. Your team still exists, still collects points and still sits in the overall table. Deleting the account itself happens in the Premier League account settings and takes everything with it, including the Draft leagues you may want back in August.
Ask on any forum and the most upvoted reply is the same one: stop logging in. It works, in the sense that nothing bad happens to you, and it is worth knowing what it looks like from the inside.
Your last saved eleven keeps playing every gameweek. Automatic substitutions still run, so a benched player who starts a match will come on for somebody who did not. You keep scoring, badly, and slide down the table at a rate that has nothing to do with your judgement. Free transfers pile up to the cap and then stop counting. In a head-to-head league your opponent still gets a fixture against a squad nobody is looking after, which is the part your friends will mention.
None of that is a disaster. It is a slow, quiet ending to something that started as the best group chat of the year, and it is the reason this page exists at all. Almost nobody searches for the exit in August.
This is our own game, so read it with that in mind. DraftIcon PL is built around the week instead of the year: you open packs of Premier League cards, draft an eleven against a clock, the real matches score it, and by Monday it is finished. No table holds you until May, because the table you care about was drawn on Friday.

The group stays the same, and that is the part worth keeping. There is still a name for the league, a table with your friends on a podium and a running record against whoever you argue with most. What is gone is the feeling of sitting forty points behind in November with six months still to serve.
Packs open, the clock runs on every pick, and an eleven with a bench comes out of it. The gameweek does the judging, then everybody is level again.

Joining costs a Friday evening. Stopping costs nothing and needs no button, because the squad you drafted was only ever borrowed for the week.
If the mini-league is still fun and only one manager has run away with it, do not leave it. Start a second table that scores from a chosen gameweek and the same friends are level again, which is an official feature and takes about a minute. Redrafts explains how, and the mini league ideas cover the side races that do the same job.
What a season league gives you is nine months of history, a title that took the whole year, and a table you have watched since August. A weekly game does not replace that, and we are not going to claim otherwise.
What it does is remove the reason people go hunting for an exit. If your season ended in October, joining late and the season being over are the two pages next to this one, and both finish in the same place. A week is short enough that quitting never comes up.
Sign in, open Leagues and Cups, select the invitational league and use the leave option that sits with the league itself. It is not in your account settings, which is why it is so hard to find.
Because it is one of the locked kinds. Public, global and club leagues have no exit, a Classic league tied to a Cup keeps you while the Cup runs, and a head-to-head league seals once its fixtures are drawn.
An invitational Classic league, yes, at any point. A head-to-head league, no, once the first gameweek has started. A Draft league, no, once the draft has begun.
No. The official help is explicit that you can leave before the draft starts and that afterwards your team is locked into the league for the remainder of the season, because the other managers drafted around you.
Not during the season. A Wildcard or a Free Hit rebuilds the eleven but keeps every point you have scored, and a genuinely blank slate only arrives when the next season opens in the summer.
Your last saved eleven keeps scoring every gameweek and automatic substitutions still run, so you slide down the tables without ever opening the app. Nothing is deleted and nobody is notified.
No, not from a Classic league. Admins can rename a league and, before scoring starts in Draft, delete it, but there is no way to take one manager out of a running table.
No. Your team, your history and your position in the overall table stay exactly as they were. You just stop appearing in that one mini-league.
DraftIcon PL is one: you draft a squad from packs each gameweek, the real matches score it, and then it clears. Nothing carries over, so no table is holding you until May.
Free, with no entry fee and nothing to buy, and the practice draft needs no account. It is our own game and it is not an official Premier League product.
Runs in the browser, costs nothing, and hands you a new eleven each gameweek. Try the draft first without signing in.
