A daily fantasy football game you can start in the next minute

Open a pack, take ten NFL cards against a clock, and the real games decide it. DraftIcon runs in a browser tab, the practice draft needs no account at all, and there is no point at any stage where it asks for money.

This is it, in full

Fifteen minutes, start to finish.

Six cards at a time with a countdown on them. Keep one, the next pack follows, and after ten of those you have a team.

The short answer

It is a draft game rather than a lineup game. There is no salary cap and no player prices, so you are not solving a budget. Packs are dealt, a clock runs, and you keep whichever card you take.

One team lasts one NFL week. The real matches score it, Monday settles it, and on the following draft day everybody starts from nothing again, which is why joining in November costs you nothing.

A pack and a countdown

That is the whole interface at the moment that matters. DraftIcon gives you cards and a timer, and the decision is which one you can least afford to pass on.

From this page to playing

Three steps, and the first two are optional

1

Draft against the bot

The practice draft opens immediately with no account, no email and no name. It is the real draft against our coach bot, so you find out in fifteen minutes whether the format suits you.

2

Make an account if you liked it

Only needed to have your score counted, to appear in rankings and to add friends. Nothing is charged and no payment method is ever requested.

3

Draft for the real week

Packs open when the new week does, and the window stays open until kickoff. Draft whenever suits you, then the games do the rest.

There is no step where a wallet appears, because there is nothing on sale inside the game. That is unusual enough in this corner of the internet that it is worth stating rather than implying.

What you are actually getting

The specifics, without the sales voice

  • Ten picks, one team. Packs of six cards arrive one after another with a clock on each, and the roster fills as you go.
  • Real NFL scoring. Points come from what your players do in the actual matches, updated during the games rather than at the end.
  • Two trade packs a week. Optional. A player is locked once his game kicks off, exactly as in any other fantasy format.
  • Nothing exclusive. Everybody opens their own packs, so a friend taking a quarterback never stops you taking the same one.
  • Three rankings at once. Your friends, your country and the world, redrawn every week rather than accumulated over a season.
  • No bye-week trap. Players whose team has no game that week are not in the pool at all, so they cannot end up in your side.

End of the week: you beat your rival, with the running record and the streak underneath
Monday

A result, then a clean slate

The week closes with your score, your position among friends and in your country, and the updated record against each rival. Then the cards expire and the next pack is dealt to everybody at once.

  • Free forever, with nothing on sale inside it
  • Runs in a browser, on a phone or a laptop
  • The coach bot drafts against you before you register
Honest about the trade

If you came looking for a daily fantasy game in the usual sense, with entry fees and a prize pool, this is not that and the difference is not cosmetic. There is no money to win here, so the sharpness a stake gives an afternoon is missing, and the fields are smaller than anything on the big apps.

What it is instead is the part of the format most people actually enjoy, with the transaction removed and a draft in place of a budget. The mechanic of the paid version is explained separately if you want the comparison, the alternative without money goes into why it barely exists, and playing with friends covers doing it as a group.

Quick answers

Is there a free daily fantasy football game?

This one. There is no entry fee, no prize pool and nothing on sale inside it, and the practice draft runs without an account at all.

Do I need to download an app?

No. It runs in a browser tab on a phone or a laptop. It can be added to a home screen if you want it to behave like an app, but nothing has to be installed.

Can I try it without signing up?

Yes. The practice draft against the coach bot needs no account, no email and no name, and it is the same draft you would play for real.

How long does one game take?

About fifteen minutes for the draft. After that nothing is required of you, since the real matches score your team whether you watch them or not.

Is it a lineup game or a draft game?

A draft game. There is no salary cap and no player prices, so instead of fitting a budget you take what the packs offer you, under a clock.

Can I still join if the season has started?

Yes, with no disadvantage, because every week begins from an empty roster for everybody. Somebody joining in November drafts on exactly the same terms as somebody who started in September.

Can I play against people I know?

Yes. One invite link makes somebody a friend permanently, and from then on your teams appear next to each other every week with a running head-to-head record.

Does it work outside the United States?

Yes, everywhere. There is no money in it, so the rules that restrict paid contests by state or country do not apply, and your country only matters for which ranking you appear in.

What happens if I miss a week?

Nothing carries over, so a missed week leaves no gap to close. Tables rank on the average of your three best weeks, which means an occasional absence costs you very little.

Is there a Premier League version?

Yes, on the same account, with packs of Premier League cards and an eleven instead of ten NFL picks. It runs from August to May.

The draft is open. Nothing to pay, nothing to install.

Fifteen minutes against the coach bot, right now, without an account.
